I’ve been thinking a lot lately about being surrendered and yielded to Jesus, and that if we lived with the thought and heart attitude to be and act only as Jesus leads, we wouldn’t need to be afraid of messing up. We may stumble from time to time, but we would not be cast down or damage things beyond repair.

The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him; though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand.” (Psalm 37:24)

How differently would you go through your day if your first and foremost response to Jesus was, “Yes Lord, whatever you say, whatever you want, whatever you are doing, I will be there?

Jesus gave us a blueprint to live by, and if we look at Him and his words and actions, we see that He sought to do the will of His Father in heaven. Through his surrender, he fulfilled his purpose whilst loving and caring for everyone around him.  “For I have come down from heaven to do the will of God who sent me, not to do my own will”. (John 6:38)

Jesus’ example is that the more you yield, the more you will be in tune with Him. Plus, when you make an effort to be in tune with God, you will be in tune with everyone else seeking after Him in the same way. The more you yield to what God is saying and doing, the more you will be an instrument in His hand. He can lead and guide you exactly where you need to be, doing what you are destined and called to do without the stress or concern that you will mess up or miss God’s best for your life.

Today I encourage you to seek after Jesus with all your heart, mind, and strength. Yield to the power of the Holy Spirit, and He will fill you with dynamic power to live your best life with Jesus.

It’s not a one-off decision, but one we make every day, moment by moment, in each decision, conversation, thought and action. The more we yield, the more automatic and easier it will become as our life reflects more and more the fruitfulness of surrender.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.” (Galatians 5:22-23)

Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” (Matt 6:9-12)

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.” (Matthew 6:33)

As you yield to the dynamic life and power of the Holy Spirit, you will abandon the cravings of your self-life. When your self-life craves the things that offend the Holy Spirit, you hinder him from living free within you! (Galatians 5:16 TPT)

Prayer: Lord, I want to live my best life and fulfil all that you have for me. I yield to you and ask you to fill me with your Holy Spirit afresh today. In Jesus name Amen.
