Dutch legend has it that there was once a small boy who, upon passing a dyke on his way to school, noticed a slight leak as the sea trickled in through a small hole. The boy poked his finger in the hole and, in doing so, stemmed the flow of water. He knew that the force and pressure of water contained behind that tiny hole would cause that trickle to quickly become a raging torrent.
This story illustrates how a small trickle of water soon becomes a stream and the stream a torrent and the torrent a flood sweeping all before it.
I believe there are times when we need to be like the little boy and plug up the holes in our lives where the enemy has poked and pushed at us, trying to break in and steal from us.
But there are also situations where it pays to punch a hole in the dam where enemy forces have purposely erected blockages and stumbling blocks to prevent answers to prayer and blessings from reaching us. Things get stolen and hindered in our lives, and we must be determined to reach out with a hand of faith and authority and punch a hole in the dam. To punch a hole in problems and the blockages that the devil has been busy setting up to hinder and steal our blessings, answers to prayer, freedom and breakthroughs from heaven.
You only require a tiny hole, and you will have movement, a trickle which, with the force and pressure of your faith and God’s word, will cause a breaking forth of all that belongs to you.
When you get that little breakthrough, you must not let up, because then the devil and his demons will be back on that issue in your life, putting their pressure to bear on you instead of the other way around.
When you see that happening determine to, “humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” (James 4:7)
Today make up your mind to punch a hole in the dam. Punch a hole in any hold up on your finances, provision, work, freedom, of living the life you know God wants for you and the answers to your prayers.
Don’t quit believing until you see manifest everything that is rightfully yours as a Son or daughter of God, because God is the God of the breakthrough.
“But if you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted!” (John 15:27)
Prayer. Lord, I thank you that you are the God of the breakthrough. Please show me where to begin punching a hole in the dam, and reveal where things have been stolen or held up in my life. I’m ready to receive the flood of answers and blessings from heaven. In Jesus name Amen.
