16 Nov – Keep The Vision Before You

Wheneer you get alone with God to listen for his direction and vision for your life, he will speak and reveal what is ahead and who He has purposed you to be and not who you are, or even what you are doing right now.

As a result, there will be a gap between where you are presently and what God says you are and will become. Therefore, when it comes to your future, it’s essential to keep the vision constantly before you and to not look at where and what you are, but rather where God is taking you and what He says.

“And the Lord answered me, and said write the vision and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that reads it.”  (Habakkuk 2:2)

The two are often very different, but that should not be mistaken that your vision and what God says about you is impossible or unattainable. It’s just that when a vision and leading is from God, you will need to look more at your future self than your past or even your present self. You’ll need the grace of God and His wisdom and strength, but if He leads, He will also provide all you need.

In the Bible, Abraham is a great example of God speaking things that don’t exist
and even seem ridiculous. Abram (God changed his name to Abraham to make a
point that he was to be a Father) and Sarah were childless and in the natural past
childbearing age. Yet God speaks a word to Abraham that he was a Father of a nation
and then took him outside to look at the stars in the heavens and promised that
as numerous as the stars were, so would be his descendants.

God speaks the vision of those things that are to come and then expects us to walk with Him as He calls into existence things that do not exist in the natural yet as He empowers and equips to bring it to pass.

As it is written, “I have made you the father of many nations”—in the presence of the God in whom he believed, who gives life to the dead and calls into existence the things that do not exist. (Romans 4:17)

Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the LORD Almighty.” (Zechariah 4:6)

There is something powerful and special about a person who looks toward who they want to be and who has a commitment to transformation and a vision and purpose.

God loves you just the way you are. He accepts you as you are, but He loves you too much to leave you with less than is possible. He knows that you can have and become so much more than you can imagine if you only choose to follow and be open to Him shaping your life.

I encourage you today to seek to be a person who commits to growth, transformation and being someone who will run toward the vision of God’s best. Invite Him into every area of your life; your relationships, work, dreams and every choice you make and then ask Him to grow and develop you into the vision of your future.

See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” (Isaiah 43:10)

“I can do all things through him who strengthens me. (Philippians 4:13)

Prayer: Lord, I invite you to bring growth and change to every area of my life. Would you please help me continually grow to be all that you created me to be, and that I will keep the vision before me so I will run into my future. In Jesus Name Amen.
