We get to choose whether we will allow our circumstances to dictate to us or whether we will dictate to our circumstances.
This is why when I'm struggling with an area or need a breakthrough, I seek to get "fat" on God's promises in the area I need freedom and a breakthrough in so that I can then determine to declare and stand upon what God has spoken. In doing that I can become actively involved in creating my life, rather than simply allowing life to happen to me.
It's not, however, only dependent on our power or might to make things happen, but upon the Word and the One who originally spoke it. When we seek God and His Word, He does the work because God and His Word are one.
Faith in what God has promised and who He is will work for anyone who'll take it and believe what it says. (John 1:1). It's why I encourage you to position and aim your faith in the area where you want to experience freedom and a breakthrough by choosing to put God's promises and love to work in your life today.
If it's your health, go to the Word about what God says about your health and freedom from sickness; if it's finances, seek what God says about money and the blessing; if it's relationships, your children, your future, anything. God wants you to know His will and to get hold of His promises so that you can renew your mind with what He says and then start declaring that. You allow God's power to flow through you when you do this.
Jesus said even faith as small as a mustard seed has the power to move mountains. (Matthew 17:20) and that, "If the Son (Jesus) sets you free, you will be free indeed" (John 8:36).
If you hear and follow His words, you will be like a wise person who built their house upon the rock; then, even when the storms of life come, your life will remain strong. (Matthew 7:24)
Today if you want to have a life that stands regardless of the storm, how to treat others, be successful, or any other of life’s questions, then I recommend choosing to follow and speak the words of Jesus. Because He promises He will lead you in the way to go and that His words in your mouth will move mountains and help build the life that Jesus designed you to live.
Prayer: Lord, I thank you that you have done everything already for me. Help me fill my heart and mind with what you say, rather than listening to the lies of the devil or any negative circumstances I may be facing. You are bigger than my circumstances or past, and I choose to put your word and promises to work for me today. Please remind me to guard my heart, for out of my heart my mouth speaks, so that my speech will be full of life-giving, mountain-moving words today. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
