One major thing we are wired for and which God wants us to focus on is love because as we focus on cultivating love, it makes our faith work, and when that starts to happen, anything is possible.
Love will cause compassion to rise in our hearts to care about others and the things that matter most. It activates our faith to start believing, reaching out, and putting love into action.
I love the account of Jesus Feeding the 5000 in Matthew 14:13-21.
Jesus exhibits a faith that is motivated by genuine care and love for people. In feeding the 5000, we see the heart of Jesus and that his love for people was the motivation behind the miracles he performed.
Read through the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John in the Bible), and you'll notice that Jesus was always motivated by love. He taught us something that many of us fail to realise. It's that "faith works by love". (Galatians 5:6)
Love is like the on switch and activation button to see our prayers answered, miracles happen, and how we experience heaven on earth. Love makes all things come together and function as they should.
Through love, Jesus healed the sick, raised the dead, and opened blind eyes and deaf ears. He delivered people from the power of evil and restored life and hope to those who were broken.
When Jesus walked into the room or down a dusty street, love emanated from Him. Love drew people; Love healed people; Love won. In the same way, Jesus' love in us is designed to flow out of us so much so that when we walk into a room, people will know we are living in love!
Love's capacity resides inside us, for we are created in the image of God, who is love. And when we connect to God, all His love, ability, and compassion flow into us, enabling us to love as He does.
If we are to live walking in the truth, we can't only seek to be people who say all the right things but also people who live a life of love, knowing what and who is important in our life.
Let love be your guide and focus today, for where love is, God is.
Jesus knows it. That's why He said to all those who follow Him, "Go, live the love life; tell everyone near and far the good news that they are loved and that love's power always wins, and it will set them free". (Mark 16:15)
"If you live in me and what I say lives in you, then ask for anything you want, and it will be yours". (John 15:7)
"There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love". (1 John 4:18)

Prayer: Lord, thank you that all the love and goodness I need is in you, and when I focus on you, what is possible in you, I have all I need to live a life which loves others well. Please help me open my heart to you so that your love will flow freely through me today. In Jesus name Amen.
