Every night at dinner, we have a tradition in our family. We go around the table and ask, "What’s the best thing that happened today?" It’s a chance to share laughs, little victories, and even those tiny moments that made us smile. (I am glad however that one of our daughters no longer shares the dissecting highlights from her Uni lab at the dinner table. 😊) Honestly, in a big family, our regular dinner-time tradition has helped us stay connected and reminds us how blessed we really are.
Studies show that gratitude has some seriously amazing benefits—not just for your emotions, but for your physical and mental health too. Writing down what you’re thankful for can help you sleep better, handle stress better and make your relationships stronger.
But here’s the best part: gratitude doesn’t just change how we feel—it shifts our focus. Instead of getting stuck on what’s wrong, it helps us see what’s going right. And beyond all the science, it aligns our hearts with God, reminding us of His goodness and abundance in every season.
Action Steps:
Ask yourself or your family: "What’s the best thing that happened today?"
Write down three things you’re grateful for this week.
Thank God for those little moments that brought you joy.
Think and Say: Gratitude changes the way I see my day—it helps me focus on the good.I will find a part of my day today and be thankful for it. Right now I am thankful for.…..
Bible Verse:"This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it." (Psalm 118:24, ESV)
Prayer: Jesus, thank You for today and for all the good things You’ve placed in my life. Please help me to see the best moments, even on tough days, and to always come back to gratitude. In Jesus’ Name Amen.
