The list goes on of what we want our lives and year to look like. Yet now is the time many people have either given up or have allowed their focus to slip on what they wanted this new year and future to look like.
This is why having a plan that we consistently stick to is so important. The person we disappoint or lie to the most if we fail to stay the course is ourselves. If we don't stick to the plan and seek to fulfil who we were made to be, we start to doubt our own word and belief in ourselves, which God doesn't want to happen. He knows the plans He has for us, and they are filled with hope, goodness and a future (Jeremiah 29:11).
So today, I wanted to encourage you to hold steady. Don't Quit, work your plan; change it up if you need to. Do what you can do, and God will help you all the way. Each day is a new day, fresh with God's grace, mercy, strength and joy. Each day is an opportunity to work on your goals and vision.
"The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." (Lamentations 3:22-23 ESV)
Some helpful keys to keep moving forward are to:
1. Write down your goals and what you're praying for at the start of every day. We become what we think and focus on the most. I have a vision board and photo of it on my phone as a visual prompt and reminder. Writing and visualizing my goals and dreams helps bring clarity, and clarity brings results. I'm daily reminded of what's important, renew my focus, and give direction to my day.
2. Schedule at least 20 minutes to work on your goals and who you desire to be. 20 mins exercise towards fitness, 20 mins reading a book to enhance your skills and knowledge in an area, 20 mins reading Gods word to know Him more. 20 mins quality time with your spouse or kids, 20 mins decluttering, 20 mins are writing that book you want to publish, 20 mins practicing a talent to make it a skill—20 mins towards becoming the best version of you.
Over a month, 20 mins every day adds up to 10 hours. What can you do and work on to become in 10 hours this month?
3. Don't Quit - Ask for help. Sometimes, we can hit a roadblock in the pursuit of our goals and feel very stuck. When this happens, assess the problem, determine if you can keep working on it alone and where you need assistance. But whatever you do - don't quit; reach out and ask for help.
I encourage you to hold steady, don't quit, fix your focus firmly ahead, and continue running your race well with God's help and empowerment. You can do it!
"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me ". (Philippians 4:13 NKJV)
"Let your eyes look directly forward, and your gaze be straight before you." (Proverbs 4:25 ESV)
'Making your ear attentive to wisdom and inclining your heart to understanding; yes, if you call out for insight and raise your voice for understanding, if you seek it like silver and search for it as for hidden treasures, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God." (Proverbs 2:25 ESV)
Prayer: Lord, thank you for you are always with me. Please help me keep going even when I feel like quitting and make the most of each day as I continue to pursue all you have for me. In Jesus name Amen
