22 February -Take One Step At A Time - How To Get More Done In A Day.

This week I started University and commenced studying part-time. It sounds a little crazy even to me, considering everything I do already, but I've been thinking about doing this for a while, and I know it is preparing me for what is ahead and the plans I have in my head and heart for the future.

However, even though we can consider, reason, plan and then act to fulfill our dreams and goals, it doesn't mean we won't have moments when we wonder what we are doing and how we will manage our schedules and to-do lists.

This is where I did the wisest thing I knew to do, and instead of stressing too much about all I had in front of me, I stopped and sought Jesus and his advice and consequently felt Him say, "Just take one week and one step at a time, that's all you need to do."

Jesus reminded me, with a little help from my lovely husband and older children, that it doesn't do any good to worry about everything in front of us. Rather than stressing, choose to take a step back and look at your life and put a plan and strategy for action into place.

This is what I did last night, and today after listening to my lecture and organising my readings to be done, I realised Jesus is completely right, and all we need do is take a step and week at a time, with Him leading the way. If He gives us the vision, He will bring the provision, whether that is finances, ideas, help or time.

As the saying goes, you don't eat an elephant in one sitting (not that I condone eating elephants), but one bite at a time.

Whatever you desire to do, be and become, you don't usually get there in one giant step.

You achieve and grow little by little, one day, one week, one step at a time.

You listen to one lecture at a time, tackle one assignment at a time, one task, and one email.

You lose one kilo at a time, stick to your exercise regime one day at a time, and read one verse, chapter, and book at a time.

You connect and choose to follow Jesus one moment, prayer and decision at a time.

Then one day, you will look back and see how far you have come and realise that those little steps, those decisions to be consistent, have taken you where you always wanted to go and that you've become the person you deep down desired to be.

Today, whatever you are thinking, feeling or facing, take it one step, one day, one week, one decision at a time and know that Jesus, who is faithful to finish what He has started in you, will enable you to do and become far more than you thought possible as He enables and perfects his work in you. (Philippians 1:6)

With Him walking with you, You've got this! :)

"For we are God's masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.' (Ephesians 2:10)

"For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength." (Philippians 4:13)

"The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time" (Abraham Lincoln)

Prayer: Lord, thank you for holding all things together, including me, and that you help me to become all I was created to be. Please help me keep my eyes on you and to take one step at a time, so I can keep running my race well. I trust you to lead and guide me today. In Jesus name, Amen.
