We were never created to live independently from God, but when we suppose He isn’t interested in us, we will be tempted to try and do life without Him.
Unfortunately, when we do that, we automatically put limitations on ourselves and what we are capable of in our strength and ability, meaning we will inevitably run out of power.
But it’s a different story when we have Jesus enabling us; with Him, we can run and not grow weary and walk and not be faint (Isaiah 40:31). We can have revealed to us the very mysteries of the universe, see new creative ways of doing things, think outside the box and live life from a completely different and unlimited perspective. For in Him we can live and move and have our being”. (Acts 17:28; 1 Corinthians 2:16)
With Jesus in our life, an, I can’t mentality begins to be challenged because that attitude and set of beliefs is the opposite of faith and trust, especially when God’s word clearly says, “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.” (Philippians 4:13).
Take a moment now to reflect on how often you think and say “I can’t” daily. “I can’t do that”. “I can’t handle it”. “I can’t understand”. “I can’t afford that”. “I can’t, I can’t, I can’t”.
With our strength, discipline, and consistency, we can do far more than we give ourselves credit for. We are, after all, each made in the image of God Himself and therefore have within us immense potential.
But then add a close relationship and connection with Jesus into the mix and the fact that Jesus says that we can do ALL things when He strengthens and enables us. Suddenly our potential and the “I can’t” limits we or others put on us are no longer such a big factor to consider when determining what and how we will go about our day.
When Jesus is involved, and we learn how to lean into His grace, supernatural ability and favour, all things become possible. (Philippians 4:13 NIV)
Today I encourage you to lay aside your worries and thinking that you can’t anymore. Determine that you will wait upon and lean into Jesus, who promises He will give strength to the weary and empower those who feel they have no strength. In Him, the limit’s come off. For He promises He will lead, guide, and equip you for every good work he has prepared in advance for you. (Ephesians 2:10 NIV)
No More Can't - You can do it!
“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be wear, and they shall walk, and not faint.” (Isaiah 40:31 NKJV)
‘For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.” (Philippians 4:13)
“For in Him all things were created, things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities. All things were created through Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him, all things hold together”. (Colossians 1:16-17)
“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power.” (Ephesians 6:10)
Prayer: Lord, thank you that I can do all things you have planned for me to walk in because you will give me strength. I’m taking “I can’t” out of my vocabulary and choosing to align my heart, thinking and words with you, what you say I can do, and your purpose for my life. In Jesus name Amen.
