23 November - God Is At Work, Trust Him!

There are seasons in life where we will find ourselves living in conflict between what we are experiencing and what God says about our life and who He is.

This conflict leaves us with a choice. "Do I trust in my present circumstances, which are shouting of fear, loss, uncertainty, disappointment, and worry, or do I trust in God's dependable and reliable goodness and that He is working for me behind the scenes to do exceedingly more than I can think, ask, pray or dream of ?" (Ephesians 3:20 AMP)

David in the bible is a great example of someone who repeatedly had to put His trust in the goodness of God rather than allowing himself to be overwhelmed by his circumstances. He faced seasons of great adversity, loneliness, waiting for change, betrayal and the constant threat of violence. Yet his response was, "I would have lost heart unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living." (Psalm 27:13)

For us to live the life we dream of and still live in a place of rest and peace, David's expectation and response must also be ours…." I will see the goodness of God in the land of the living."

Whether it's adversity, conflict, viruses, global strife, or pandemics, whatever the problem or pressure we may face, it does not need to lead us into panic or fear.

It's why God says we should not worry or allow our hearts to be troubled. "Don't worry or surrender to your fear." (John 14:1 TPT)

God says, "All things work together for our good" (Romans 8:28). So, if it's not good yet, God's overall game plan isn't complete. God's not done yet. It's why God says we should not worry or allow our hearts to be troubled. "Don't worry or surrender to your fear." (John 14:1 TPT)

When you base your whole life, your every decision, reaction, expectation and dream on the simple truth that God is good and He works all things together (that's ALL THINGS work together) for your good when you walk according to His purposes, it changes everything.

Why? Because you don't need to worry, stress, smash yourself around trying to make things work in your own strength or wonder how everything will work out. You may be faced with decisions, struggles and uncertainty, but when you base your responses and belief upon God, who is good, perfect and does not change, you can relax and live your life from a place of peace and confidence.

God knows the end from the beginning and everything in between. (Revelation 1:13 NIV)

Nothing is a surprise to Him. He declares, "I know the plans I have for you. They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me. I will be found by you, says the Lord." (Jeremiah 29:11-14)

Today, if you find yourself troubled, worrying, or know you have to take a step forward but are unsure, then base your trust, actions and responses on these truths.

1. GOD IS GOOD! "He's so much better than you think!"

2. You will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.

3. That God is faithful to perform what He has promised and will finish what He has started in you.

4. God will work ALL things together for your good.

Prayer: Lord, I thank you that you are already working for me in every circumstance of my life to bring good. Please help me today to trust and base my life and expectations on your love and care for me and to remember that you are always working ALL things together for my good. In Jesus' name Amen.
