26 Oct - When God Says "Come Boldly"

There’s something incredibly powerful about approaching God with confidence, knowing that He is always ready to help. Hebrews 4:16 NIV encourages us, “…approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.” This verse reveals the heart of God—He desires us to come boldly to Him, no matter what we are facing.

In the original Greek, the word for "help" in this verse is boetheia, a term sailors used when a ship was in danger of breaking apart. They would bind ropes around the vessel to hold it together during fierce storms. In the same way, God's grace acts like those ropes, holding us together when everything around us feels like it’s falling apart.

When life’s storms hit, we can boldly come to God for His grace and strength. He promises to be our lifeline, to give us the support we need, and to hold us steady through every challenge. He’s not only our protector, but also our anchor, keeping us secure in His love.

Prayer: Father, thank You that I can come to You with confidence, knowing You understand my struggles. Please help me receive Your grace and strength today, and may Your love wrap around me like ropes, holding me together through every storm. In Jesus' name, Amen.
