God wants us to be able to get to the point where we trust Him to bring everything to pass in our life that He has planned for us. The more we get to know Him, the more we trust Him because we begin to realise He only wants the best for us. We actually don’t have to know everything that is going to happen, we just have to rely on Him and that He is in control and everything is going to be alright.
In the midst of this God will always give us hopes and dreams for certain things to happen in our lives. However, He doesn’t always allow us to see the exact timing of His plan.
Perhaps because there are times when we might give up if we knew how long the process was going to be or how much he was going to cause us to grow. I've discovered it’s often in walking it out in real time, with all the up's and down's that God accomplishes what He needs to in our lives. He stretches our faith, skill level and capacity to bring change and growth, but without the process all these things don't happen.
There is however a wrong way, ie; getting impatient and grumpy and trying to make things happen in our own strength, or a right way to walk through the process. If we choose God’s way, following his lead and the guidance in His word, we can, with practice even discover how to enjoy the journey. We learn to go with what God is doing in and around us, instead of resenting the process, and all that God is perfecting in our life.
God says, when we are patient and don’t give up that we will we grow, lack nothing, and reap our harvest at the appointed time.
“But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing”. (James 1:4)
“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.“ (Galatians 6:9 NIV)
The bible tells the stories of people like Joseph, Moses, the Israelites, and David and you can see that wherever people had to just keep walking and trusting the process of what God was doing that He never failed to take care of them and show them what He wanted them to do.
The same is true in our lives. God’s timing is perfect and all he asks is that we follow and trust him and what He tells us to do and says about our lives. He will always tell us the good things to come in his perfect time and encourage us to walk out the best versions of ourselves. When we accept God’s timing, we can learn to live with an expectation of the good things ahead, continue to grow and choose to enjoy life while God is working in us and behind the scenes on our behalf.
Today trust God and set your heart to believe that He wants only the best for you. Believing brings rest, so stop trying to figure everything out, and let God be God in your life as you walk out the process.
“Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways know, recognise, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths”. (Proverbs 3:5-6)
“I trusted in, relied on, and was confident in You, O Lord; I said, You are my God. My times are in your hands”.(Psalm 31:14-15)
“To everything there is a season, and a time for every matter or purpose under heaven.” (Ecclesiastes 3:1)
Prayer: Lord, please help me to learn how to wait and rest in you and to understand and know that you only have good things in store for me. Thank you for your appointed timing for me and that you will bring all things together for my good. In Jesus Name Amen.
