For every promise, God has a strategy and plan for us to walk in to receive the promise. Faith has actions!
"In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead".(James 2:17)
Faith calls for action and obedience, so it's wise to ask God's plan and regularly check in to inquire, "Lord, what do you want me to do, and what's your plan here?" There is a process to faith and breaking through from one level of faith to another as we believe God for each stage we are at.
This is where we get what I call "faith muscles". We put our belief in God's promises to work as we ask, "What's the next step?' Then we do it because faith acts!
A year ago, our family moved across the country to follow what we felt was a promise from God. We'd seen something in our future, had a promise from Him, and needed to know how to walk out His plan and strategy.
Faith in what we believe God is saying and doing always has actions attached to it. That meant us getting ready to move and selling most of our belongings to prepare to relocate. We sat on camping chairs for a few weeks, gave away things we didn't want to move with, painted, cleaned, and sent some of our children ahead of us to settle in Uni and sport. Then we waited for the go-ahead from God. One week went by, then a month, then another, and still no green light. All I felt the Lord whisper was, "You're packed up, so now you can enjoy your summer." I honestly wondered more than once, "What is God thinking"??
I've discovered that when God speaks, we can jump up and down all we want, but unless we want to step outside of His plan and will for our lives, we may as well trust him. (Proverbs 3:5-6)
Summer came and went; we learned to relax regardless of the crazy circumstances, had a holiday, spent time on the beach, chilled with friends and family, and waited for God's next move.
Then the first day of Autumn arrived, and I felt the Lord say, "book your tickets,"…..so we did, and three weeks later, we arrived in our new city with a lot of luggage, a temporary place to stay, and no job. But God always has a strategy and perfect plan, and by the end of the week, my husband had a job, and we were shortly able to move into our new ho
The thing about getting a plan from God is He will always use His plan to build our faith. For us, the plan was to move to another city, and God's strategy was for us to trust Him, sell everything, get ready to move, and then wait until He said go. He has perfect timing and a perfect place, job, relationship, and way forward, but there will be a plan to get to where He is leading that we are to follow. Faith always has to act.
God has a strategy and a plan so that we can both believe and receive. If we wait and listen, He will give us an action plan for how to move forward.
Today take some time to discover God's promise – it's in His Word, and then wait on Him to get divine wisdom and strategy. Don't make the mistake of presuming or even telling God how it will all happen. As I say, "Presumption is the mother of all stuff-ups".
Instead, wait on God and spend time looking up and then meditating on His promises, and you'll find that He'll lead you in the way you should go. It will no doubt stretch your faith and trust but continue to seek Him, go gently and trust that He will open the right doors and close the wrong ones as He leads you today.
"He says, “Be still, and know that I am God". (Psalm 46:10 NIV)
"A man’s mind plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps and makes them sure." (Proverbs 16:9 AMPC)
Prayer: Lord, thank you for the promises in your Word that you are alert, active, and watching over to perform. Please help me wait and listen so that I walk in your plan and strategy and act upon what you say. I choose to trust you today. In Jesus name Amen.
