What do you believe God is capable of doing in your life? Do the things you ask God for reflect how powerful He is? Bold faith like I think God wants us to have - the faith that gives Him a job to do on our behalf, involves stepping out of our comfort zones and trusting God, even when the path isn't clear. It's about having confidence in His promises; in what He has spoken and His ability to fulfil it.
Choosing to Believe
Bold faith starts with a choice. In John 1:37-42, two disciples chose to follow Jesus based on what they had heard. Choosing to believe is the first step in developing bold faith and being able to trust in God's word and His promises despite our circumstances.
In the words of Martin Luther "Faith is a living, daring confidence in God's grace, so sure and certain that a man could stake his life on it a thousand times."
Spending Time with Jesus
One of the best ways is to cultivate bold faith is to spend time with Jesus. In Luke 10:38-42, Mary chose to sit at Jesus' feet, prioritising His words over the busyness of life. Spending time in prayer, worship, and reading the Bible deepens our relationship with Him and strengthens our faith. You'll get to know Him and what He is capable of and wants to do for you. He is always wanting to exceed our expectations, prayers and dreams. (Ephesians 3:20)
Spreading the Word
Do you want to grow your faith and be bolder? Share what you already have in your hand and heart. It's not meant to be kept quiet and hidden. In John 1:40-42, Andrew, after meeting Jesus, immediately told his brother about Him. Our experiences and knowledge of God’s power and faithfulness naturally lead us to encourage others to trust Him, and in doing so our faith and confidence will grow as we stretch ourselves to share and act upon what we know and have seen and heard about Jesus.
Trusting God’s Promises
In Genesis 18:14, God asks, “Is anything too hard for the Lord?” It's a reminder of his limitless power. Bold faith involves believing that God can do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20).
Give God a Job
I encourage you today to trust God with your dreams and desires and give Him a job, He's waiting to answer your prayers and the angels love helping us. The Bible calls them ministering spirits who assist us. (Hebrews 1:14) Why not give God a job and trust that He will guide your steps and fulfil His promises. All of heaven gets involved when you give God a job!
Embrace the Journey
Having bold faith is a journey where you get to trust God daily, even in the face of challenges and uncertainties.
It's about trusting God beyond the ordinary and acknowledging He has a perfect plan for your life, believing that He is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28).
Let this be the season where your faith in God opens doors you never imagined possible. Embrace the journey, trust His promises, and watch as He moves mountains on your behalf. Nothing is too hard for God!
Prayer; Lord thank you for bold faith growing in me and that I can trust in Your promises and Your power. Please help me to spend time with You, and that your word would come alive to me as I do so that I can pray bold prayers and be expectant for You to move more in my life and the lives of those around me. Please help me to remember every day that nothing is too hard for You. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
